Fryderyk Chopin -The poet of piano
1810 - 1849

The final -and deffinitive- design of character! Was a lot of work, but here is it!. I dediced to use an 'art -noveau' background, no matter the era, but was so funny to do.

Hi dear :)
you have been featured in my journal: [link]

By the way.. I'm still searching pieces for the second part of the collection.
Do you have any other picture of a man wearing a coat or a waistcoat? If you link it to me if you want it featured ^^

Nice pictures.
Must've been a bit tough to find people related to Chopin during his life.

The texture on the background is wonderfully light. Looking carefully I can see it, but it it just blends subtly into the picture. And what a lovely picture it is. I adore the hair, it's so full and wavy. Also, the pin in his cravat is marvelous, as is the cane and the shine on his shoes. It would be awesome to see some allusion to his flaming nationalism, but I suppose that would look a little out of place with the elegant style that you have given him.

Again, thank you very much indeed for your great comment!!

Intentionally I used a soft texture. But only for background, not for the character because first of all I want to stand out the figure. Also the layer (of texture) is multiplying, and this could change the coloring in a hard way.

Well, about nationalism, in this kind of portrayal is a little complicated, but not impossible :D. Soon I'll submit an image of Tytus Woyciechowski, (Fryderyk's best friend) and you can see some objects that shows his love for Poland.

Thanks! :iconspiralsmileplz:

Wo0t for Polska pride. I'm just a little nuts for Poland during the time of the partitions. It was so interesting seeing how people negotiated that.

Yes, and if you notice the rosette's clef changes in accordance with the character:
Chopin's friends and family - Bass Clef
Other musicians and theirs friends - Treble Clef
And George's Sand family (and some friends of her)- Alto Clef
...Well, this is a way to show how was the social life of Fryderyk too..

Thanks for your comment! :D

Oh, Chopin!

Excelente trabajo, me encanta tu estilo :D

His nose is a complicated detail to work in this style, althought in a draw a bit realistic it can be posible. I think so that his enormous nose was a great sex-appeal! I'll continue trying to draw it!

Thank you very much for your comment!! great observation

Will we find Liszt on the flip-side of this? XD

¡Thanks for the comment!

Chip chip was one of the most popular dandies of Paris. Once I read about his favourites brands of accesories: Chardin, Rapp and Feideau...

About Liszt, yes! I have done a portrait in same way: [link]
